Group Workshop

A SOULFUL JOURNEY INTO INTUITIVE PAINTING

May 26th - 27th

In May I had the privilege of gathering together with a small group of women, in the beautiful Blue Mountains, to go on a little soulful journey into Intuitive Painting.

It was my first ever group workshop and I couldn't have asked for a more lovely group of women to share this experience with. What I quickly realised was that this, beyond being a painting workshop, was a chance for each of us to just take a step out of our everyday lives. To take a breath. To pause. To tune in and connect with our SELF. To connect with other like-minded women. To have TIME and SPACE for the soul. It was a weekend of giving back to ourselves in a beautiful way.

From the very beginning it was my intention to create a safe space, where each person who came could seek what they individually needed. I knew that I needed to have an open mind and heart as to how the weekend would unfold (much like a painting, really). Over the weekend, I noticed how this workshop became:

A place to have the physical, mental and emotional space to create freely...

To find new inspiration and hope...

A space to feel seen, heard, acknowledged and validated...

A safe place to release hurts, wounds, past stories and shift negative energy...

To feel into current emotions, realities and thoughts...

A space for the "Inner Artist Child" to feel deeply nurtured and loved (The Artists Way, Julia Cameron)...

A space to chat, to laugh, to feel joy in the MOMENT...

Oh we did paint... and PAINT and PAINT and PAINT some more...

We cheered each other on... and helped one another through moments of uncertainty...

We learnt from each other as we listened, shared, and witnessed each other in the creative process...

I feel very honoured that I was able to create a space to allow for all of these things (and more, I'm sure words cannot express all of it). I feel honoured that I was able to be a guide in this journey between the soul and the canvas. I wouldn't consider myself a "teacher" in that way... as I believe the greatest teacher when it comes to our art is our own hearts. I also believe we learn from each other.. and that is part of the power of coming together with other like-minded souls.
